Maybe informing them you think he's got a heavenly body would be more prudent. LanternWaste Jan 2016 #9
The point is that Lemmy is a mythological entity... Lemmy is God, therefore exectly what you would Glassunion Jan 2016 #10

I'd hate to see science pander to this element (no pun interned).

Elements are traditionally named only after places (most commonly, the region or country of origin of element's discovery), heavenly bodies, mythologies, or scientists.

"your own point..."

Not my point... the scientific convention of naming standards. Argue with them... I'm certain they'll allow you all the credibility you indeed, warrant. Maybe informing them you think he's got a heavenly body would be more prudent.

name an element.

How do you not name an element after such a mythological entity?

(or really, any banjo with a tone ring)

Heavy metal definitely applies.

It should be apparent to one and all that Lemmy Kilmister was the second-ugliest individual to walk a stage in the history of the world.

(This is the ugliest...)

Therefore, a new ISO standard for ugly should be created and named the Lemmy.

The scale will run from 1 to 100. Donald Trump gets a 73 and Ted Cruz an 85.

He always said that Motörhead were a rock n roll band, and that they were not metal.

What's next? Naming elements after celebrities? How about politicians? How much would it cost to name an element "Disneyum"?
