"Noun verb and 9/11" was the only elected person on that day that got the opportunity to stand in front of cameras and pretend to be in charge. At the time I suspected the people doing the real work were relieved that he got out of their hair and let them get on with what they could do.

Bush and Cheney were conspicuous for their absences and the country needed a leader to talk to them and reassure them. "Noun verb and 9/11" was all we got.
