I Have Only This To Say to Debbie Wasserman "Yes_I-Am-A-Greedy-Sot" Schultz

Democrats can't hope to win any future elections without millennials. And millennials continually tell me online and IRL that "both parties are just tools of the corporations."

I have spent a great deal of time, breath and energy showing kids where that is not the case at all.

But now, our illustrious booze-corp-sucking Debbie Wasserman Schultz has made me look like a liar.

https://theintercept.com/2016/01/06/wasserman-schultz-fueled-by-booze-pacs-blasts-legal-pot/

Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz told the New York Times she continues to oppose legalizing marijuana — even as she has courted alcohol PACs as one of the largest sources of her campaign funding.

Wasserman Schultz, a House Democrat from Florida, said she doesn’t “think we should legalize more mind-altering substances if we want to make it less likely that people travel down the path toward using drugs. We have had a resurgence of drug use instead of a decline. There is a huge heroin epidemic.”

The fifth-largest pool of money the congresswoman has collected for her re-election campaign has been from the beer, wine, and liquor industry. The $18,500 came from PACs including Bacardi USA, the National Beer Wholesalers Association, Southern Wine & Spirits, and the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that during a recent period, “excessive drinking was responsible for one in 10 deaths among working-age adults aged 20-64.”

I'm done.

DWS bullshit lies would have worked in the 80s. They don't work now. Young people smell her bullshit from across the country and she has lost them for us.

From now on, all I can say is that the kids are right.

Fuck trying to defend people who get on their knees and defend an industry that causes so much heartache and sickness and injury and death.

Fuck a dumbass who equates cannabis to heroin.

Fuck a person with so many benefits in this life who encourages a War on Poor People - because that's all the war on drugs is. DWS's rich buddies smoke all the goddamned cannabis they want and you and I know it.

The kids are right. Both parties are sucking their benefactors you-know-whats with zero regard.

I will not defend you any more, Democrats.

Go Bernie. I will defend you, because you're the only one on the national stage with any concern for reality, who isn't fellating the booze industry.

How many people that self-identify as Democrats™ hate DWS. As if the party didn't go out of its way to choose her.

I feel your pain, but think things will probably get worse before they get any better.

Best of luck!

No one forced them to choose her. The party elites choose her deliberately.

If you're trying to have a semantic debate I'm not interested. Just FYI.

They did go out of their way. They didn't just chose some random person. They chose her specifically.

In fact their was a contest and she was chosen over others.

The bigger mystery is how she's kept her job:

she rigged the DNC's efforts to push Bernie ahead of what he's been able to accomplish for his own candidacy. In fact, we all know it. A big-money donor's hissy over her stand on his old marijuana bill is irrelevant.

This isn't about principle, or about marijuana, it's just about the acting out of people with tunnel vision who see only Bernie in the little light at the end of it. Respect for him does NOT require respect for either dishonesty or inability to comprehend a bigger picture.

"Mysteriously Still-Employed DNC Chair."

The only reason this useless woman was ever in this position is because very powerful people want her ther to keep doing her wonderful work - serving their interests completely while devastating the party across the country. Keep those $$$ flowing in, no matter the source.

Those of us out here in real world who identify as Democrats were not asked our opinion. That would suggest a disconnect between the Democratic voters and the party leadership. Not exactly a big fucking secret.

There's technically a vote among the party's leadership for chairperson.

But when a Democrat holds the White House, the president's candidate wins that vote no matter how the party leadership feels.

DWS has the job because Obama wants her to have that job. He is the one who actually picks the chairperson. The election is just for show until a Republican is president.

But I am sick of trying to get kids excited about voting only to have %@#(*&'s like her prove me wrong.

DWS does not care about the working people, the veterans, the college kids, the sick or the needy.

But goddamn, the fucking bourbon pushers need her help oh so badly.

What do the kids think?

AS one kid on reddit said, and I paraphrase "When I was addicted to opiates and I ran out, I went to alcohol first thing."

Maybe Wasserman "I-Suck-The-Booze-Sellers" Schultz has never seen people almost die from alcohol withdrawal. I have. I've never seen a single person die from cannabis withdrawal. They just get cranky.

So no, I didn't choose her, the corporations did. And I won't stand up for this party's GREEDY 1% PIGS again. I'm telling everyone to vote Bernie.

Thu Jan 7, 2016, 02:55 PM

Most of us boomers at least had some years when things were okay.

Today kids have been disenfranchised for NOTHING by the War on Drugs, they have student loans they can't repay, housing costs they can't afford and a bunch of shit jobs with no benefits to look forward to.

They can't buy homes, get married or have kids any time in the foreseeable future.

They are discouraged and pissed and they see both parties as bearing the blame.

Now DWS sells them down the river so she can get a few grand. You're right Rex, it is appalling to see how Schultz has basically told the kids: "Fuck you! I love the Booze lobby more than my country!"

You know that piece of work parties her face off and knows lots of people who smoke. But they're rich fucks like her so they won't ever be thrown in a jail cell over a few grams of weed. They'll never lose their right to vote, have a passport, have a firearm, get student aid, join the military, get food stamps if they need them because no one will hire them or even leave their county like so many poor kids. They won't see their families go bankrupt paying legal fees and fines and jail phone costs.

Just fuck that sellout %*@!!!!!!!

I will continue to tell them the many ways they benefit from supporting a party that includes the voices of Obama, Boxer, Clinton, Sanders, O'Malley, Booker, Gutierrez, Biden, Conyers, etc....

I have no need to fight for DWS and not one single young person I have talked to about politics has brought her up.

The both parties are the same is one of the most laughable arguments I have ever heard.
