Can the DU Community Agree on These Two Things?

Ted Cruz's Presidential Campaign Logo Looks Like a Patriotic Representation of the Al-Jazeera Logo.

Marco Rubio has BATBOY Ears.

Neither-Cruz's logo looks like The Onion logo, and Marco's ears look like baby elephant ears.

King James Bible: Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.

Flag, flame, water droplet? A whole lot of The Anointed One's followers are in the mood to purify by burning the national barn down. All in the service of God, and to spit in our eyes, of course.

In general, I don't go along with attacks on or jokes about a candidate's physical appearance.

Even taking account of the ears, Rubio is much better looking than I am.

when it comes to making fun of somebody's ears, I can hardly throw a rock from my glass mansion.

The logo looks like a standard flame too. When it comes to logos, I personally thought the one my county party picked looks like a Denver Bronco. The only trouble is that we are only about 50 miles from Arrowhead Stadium (is it called that any more?)

Spock was a thing, not realizing that was sci-fi?

Seriously, you don't like to have fun, ever, with appearance? So comparing Mittsy's Once-and-Never VP to Eddie Munster is 'off limits' to you, too? The jokes made by SNL about HRC, and Larry David's Sanders...you don't get a kick out of those?

Sheesh. No fun!

You're not running for POTUS, are you? You don't have to come up to the "Rubio standard" then!

The Ryan-Munster and Rubio-Batboy comparisons do nothing for me. That Cruz looks like Joe McCarthy is more interesting because it resonates with his political views. A few of the Christie fat jokes are funny but the whole subject is way overdone. (I was disappointed when Letterman did a Top 10 about Christie and every single one was a fat joke. From that source I expected more creativity.)

I almost never watch SNL so I don't know what kind of jokes they've made about Clinton. I did see Larry David's impression of Sanders and I thought that that, like Tina Fey doing Palin, went way beyond a feeble joke about a candidate's ears.

Years ago I read the comment that LBJ was probably our last ugly President. You're right that I'm not running for POTUS, but it's sad that quite a few potential leaders are out of consideration simply because of their appearance.

FWIW, here's the one Christie joke I remember laughing at. A comedian was speaking at a dinner where Christie was present, when the GWB scandal was more in the news, and he said something along these lines: "Governor, I have size jokes and bridge jokes. Which do you want? Or I could do some of each -- you know, sort of like a combo platter."

That one is, to some extent, a joke about fat jokes, and it appeals to my appetite liking for self-referential humor.
