That most of the people who rail against "social programs" are probably against at least half of those things as well.

But since most Americans especially Repubs are selfish they'll say "Well I don't use NPR, PBS, Welfare, Amtrack, Agricultural Subsidies, etc." so why should I pay for them!!
It's idiotic and shortsighted and selfish, but at this point....that's a sad majority of Americans.

rail against many of those programs: Amtrak, public buses, food stamps, the EPA, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, WIC, and so on. They don't understand to what extent we all benefit from such things. They are selfish, selfish, selfish.
