(38,437 posts)It's pretty easy to get on the Sander's bandwagon for this stuff because his net worth is close to zip.
I know that it's possible to be sincere about kicking back against the 1% even if you're part of them, but it gives me pause.

(11,138 posts)If not, what are you doing? Just smearing without cause?
And, more importantly, why would you do that? I, for example, am quite pleased with Ms. Warren's efforts to date, and am grateful she chooses the battles she does. I would not think to malign her reputation without good reason, although I am aware that there are an endless array of Republicans and others who would (and do).

(14,558 posts)According to this, Warren is worth $8.5 million. http://money.cnn.com/2015/01/08/news/economy/elizabeth-warren-wealth/
Still, we're pretty lucky to have her in the Senate. She's been a pretty strong advocate for the 99% even if she's not one of us strictly speaking.
Bernie is. No worries there.
But, honestly, I'm not too worried about Warren. Her heart is in the right place and I don't begrudge her the money she's earned.

(37,748 posts)Which seems to allow her an additional perspective from which to assist us in fighting back rather than invalidating her own point (which inference as such, would be predicated on the logical fallacy (circular cause and consequence)...

(19,288 posts)Than any of their clowns. Heads I win, tails I win.
The game truely is rigged.
Most of us can deal with any consequences if they feel fair. And I know life is not fair. But that perpetual disappointment in being fucked over is what drives people into the streets. We used to have the right to peaceful assembly (even if you have to get a permit.) Now, they have tear gas, water cannons, and free speech zones roped off in the back of the building.
Well, if you aren't a rich rancher, anyway, trying to make our public lands private to mine, frack, and log into an eroded, decimated, waste land.
Next the Kochs will have them take over the pubic parks for wealthy vacation subdivisions.

(6,409 posts)This election cycle may become a turning point for our party. For 30 years, we have "fought back" by patiently trying to outlast the losing Third Way strategy and hoping the party would return to its core values. We have been rewarded with more of the same. When the strategy yields the same results i always yields, capturing the presidency while losing at every other level, we may see some actual fighting back. It might be in the form of a third party effort, a splinter group within the Democratic Party, or something else. Someday, we will see the straw that breaks the camel's back, and it could be this time.

Peaceful, Bernie-induced political revolution is in the air.

(57,936 posts)How could the national Democratic Party sit by while American workers were being deprived of the right to negotiate the terms of their working conditions and pay in the way that government employees were in Wisconsin.
That shocked me. The National Democratic Party and the Obama administration did not support the legitimate interests of working people in that situation.
It was heartbreaking.

(107 posts)going to change by voting for Hillary in the primary. If you consider yourself a progressive and have concerns, or have complained about campaign finance or TPP, or corporations having way too much power over our government, but still support Hillary, you lose your right to complain.
