After a four-month romance, the pair announced their engagement on the Births, Marriages and Deaths page of Murdoch's newspaper, The Times on Monday.

"Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger are delighted to announce their engagement," the classified ad read.

The 84-year-old billionaire businessman is the chairman of News Corporation which owns The Times.

Murdoch and Hall, 59, made a rare appearance at the Golden Globes together on Sunday, after "getting engaged over the weekend in Los Angeles," according to the announcement.
