(40,416 posts)I recommend some art to cure the affliction. Yours is visual. Mine is auditory. Either would suffice.
Here's my deal.
Frederica von Stade as Cherubino in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (my favorite opera):
My best to you. I already know that I lose in this game. It is still fun to play.

(63,899 posts)career was built on this specialty.
Years ago we had opera series seasons here in New Haven and we had a subscription. We both love opera, which I inherited from my mother and my aunt, and I recall getting all dressed up to go with them to the opera in Dallas when I was young.
Besides mozart, who doesn't love puccini's melodic operas? who does it better than Angela Gheorghiu and her "vissi d'arte"?

(40,416 posts)And yes, Angela Gheorghiu.
Here, for those who want the contrast.
And don't get me started about the Beecham La Boheme recording with de Los Angeles and Bjorling. An astounding performance. Yup! I love Puccini.
On edit: I guess Vissi d'arte would be your tune. "I live for art" One could have predicted that.
I like to take opera neophytes to Tosca. It is a simple opera. When the last major character dies, the opera ends. Of course it is Tosca, plunging herself off the parapet of Castle Saint Angelo into the Tiber.
"O Scarpia, Avanti a Dio!"
