Virginia GOP bill would require schools to verify children’s genitals before using restroom

A bill filed by a Virginia lawmaker this week would require schools to be certain that children are using the restroom corresponding to their “correct anatomical sex.”

The legislation, which would prohibit transgender students from using the bathroom matching their gender, is being sponsored by Republican Del. Mark Cole.

House Bill 663 defines “anatomical sex” as “the physical condition of being male or female, which is determined by a person’s anatomy.”

“Local school boards shall develop and implement policies that require every school restroom, locker room, or shower room that is designated for use by a specific gender to solely be used by individuals whose anatomical sex matches such gender designation,” the measure states.

Any time I hear a politician obsessed with protecting children from "predators", i.e. liberals, gays, hippies, science teachers, etc, I think it is time to have a chat with any children they have access too.

Sadly, my instincts on this have been right a depressing number of times.

if it passes, schools can either comply - and the parents will blame schools, not the legislators becuase the schools are the acting party. or the schools can NOT comply and people can get fired, unions busted, school boards changed.

I'd like to say that it sounds so absurd that it wouldn't pass. but i can't make such statements on faith anymore.

You may be right. I didn't wish to make school administrators responsible for this bill they have nothing to do with, but they (and teachers) would likely bear the brunt of such a foolish law.

That is suggesting adults start routinely examining children's body parts. I bet this guy would very much enjoy doing the verification himself. The mere suggestion of this is twisted enough that it is worth looking into. I would start looking into this guy if I were the police.

which is no easy thing, WTF is WRONG with this moran? What's with the obsession? Are the Commonwealth's bathrooms being overrun by transgender kids who are assaulting other kids? Which would be a first in human history. Why are these duck-fucking cave orcs so endlessly obsessed with the genitals of other people. Fucking pervs, the lot of them.

half the parents storming the school demanding to know why little Emily or little Tommy had to expose said genitals to adults every time they go to the bathroom and what a ripe opportunity for pedophiles to get their sick jollies.

This has to be the absolute dumbest thing I've ever heard. "Protect" the kids from another kid that is transgender and going about their business in the bathroom, but throw them to the wolves by making them display their business to a bunch of adults.

What the hell, Virginia?
