Chipotle is closing all its stores, but it's for a good reason

http://www.sfgate.com/business/article/Chipotle-is-closing-all-its-stores-but-it-s-for-6761231.php

You're about to be burrito-blocked. Chipotle announced Thursday it will close all of its stores for a few hours on February 8 for a company-wide meeting about food safety.

Following successive food poisoning outbreaks last year, spokesman Chris Arnold, told The Chicago Tribune the meeting next month will cover a range of issues.

The company has been working to win back customers after health officials investigated six outbreaks last year involving E. coli, salmonella and norovirus that were linked to Chipotle. Sales quickly dropped 30 percent in December....

Federal officials haven't confirmed if the E.coli outbreak is over. In the meantime, Arnold says the company has hired a food safety expert, now tests produce before distributing it to restaurants and will begin a campaign in February to help regain trust.

It's more likely to be staffed with people who actually understand food and how to handle it in a way that isn't going to give you the trots; not blindly following the letter of the regulations and hoping for the best but actually knowing what's good and what isn't. More simply, we don't serve something we wouldn't eat ourselves.

Or, if you'd rather strict food code adherence....the Wal-Mart deli. Seriously. Worked there in a pinch once, their internal regs would make the USDA/FDA blush. Damn near literally eat off the floors.

I go out with friends to eat. I even get a sore throat when I go to a dentist. Every single time and no matter what dentist. I don't think I am as immune as most people that have always been real social.

But hot and spicy food never agreed with my anyway.
