Bluntist Weather Report Ever Given..."Don't be Stupid"..Huffington Post

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/nancy-loo-blunt-weather-report_5698acdae4b0ce4964241338

Nancy Loo wasted no time on Wednesday morning in giving what could be the bluntest cold weather report ever.

The reporter for "The WGN Morning News" show braved icy conditions on Chicago's Magnificent Mile to tell viewers that it was "dang cold."

Loo then broke away from what should have been an in-depth forecast to say, "In fact, I wish I could do just this report: It's dangerously cold, it's about 5 degrees right now, wind chill about 15 to 20 below, don't be stupid. Back to you."

Well isn't that something. ."Don't be stupid"...Well...it won't work. No matter what you say, there are stupid among us. We..will do stupid because we think we are not stupid No matter how cold it gets, there will be stupid people who do what they do..In fact, many of us, right here at this location, Democratic Underground..have done stupid things in our past.........some of which I will not mention here...........................................".Back to you"

We were in Colorado on a ski trip, so what the hell?

Ended up with frostbite on one toe that made it permanently discolored.

Young men do stupid things.

A long time ago, I was young, and much more stupid than I am now..I was in Colorado also. in the summer. So, I road to the top of Pikes Peak,,what a view. I was carrying some food on that trip in glass jars. unopened...Some hikers who had hiked up the trail, over 6600 feet vertical feet) ..were sitting there enjoying the view. They had taken lots of water, but very little food. I had jars of roasted and salted soybeans, so we traded two or three jars of unopened soybeans..for..two or three joints of pot..so while I smoked that stuff, at 14,100 feet high, they smoked, and ate. It was glorious..(it was not legal then)...then I drove down that road,,still affected by the stuff, and breathing it in, at 14,100 feet up...

yes, that was stupid too

Visited it a couple of times for business and thought "Hell, I would get in my car and keep driving south until I couldn't afford any more gas".

I lived in Rogers Park in the mid-80s. One winter we had a cold spell where it was -25 for 11 days in a row, something fierce.

And windy. The Hawk would make it feel like -50. Waiting for the L, a line would form downwind from me.
