I most likely don't know you. Perhaps we have spoken a time or two on DU and I probably laughed at a joke you cracked in a thread or felt empathy when you went on about the evils of corporatism. But, even if I don't know you I don't want you to die because you can't afford a catastrophic illness or you put off going to the doctor because you can't afford the visit even though it's an easily treated disease.
I don't want you to die because someone living in poverty and despair and one day decided to take out the pain with a fifth and got behind the wheel of a car and crashed into you. I would rather that person got an education and didn't have to worry about every damn thing along the way to getting a degree. Perhaps that would lead to a better outcome than finding the bottom of a bottle.
I don't want you to die because some insane person gets to become President and gets us into another war of discretion. Nor do I want you to face the loss of a loved one for the same reason.
I don't want you to die because global warming has caused you food insecurity because the price of food sky rockets and now you have to decide between eating and paying for medication, because the government thinks saving money on medical care for citizens is more important than saving lives by not dropping bombs on people who live on the land where our oil is stored.
If you do die I prefer it to be after a lifetime of happiness and after reaching a grand age. I prefer it to be after a lifetime of achieving all you can because even if you were born into a poor family the government understands the value of an educated citizenry and funds your education. I prefer that it would be after seeing our nation heal from the wounds afflicted by the "greed is good" era of our nation. I would prefer that if you do die you have the peace of mind knowing that your children/grandchildren will have a safety net should life not go as planned, the kind you would provide if you were able.
