I am 48 miles east of you, and it is in the high 50's. I haven't had to even break out my gloves yet this year, and I have some great coats. They are just sitting there.

Though my raincoat has been getting a lot of use.

Hey, Canada! Can you PLEASE send us some cold? I'd love it if it came with some snow, but hell, I'll take what Katashi is getting and I am directly east by less than 50 miles and getting none of it.

Please send it here, Katashi!

That is, the cold that hasn't already snuck over the border. Love ya, Canada, but prefer that it gets above 0° during the day.

Very happy after listening to President Obama this morning regarding the release of the Americans by Iran. I was here when the hostages were taken in 1979. Today is a very good day.

How are you doing?

Went for a three mile walk in -6°, 3 days after being in the ICU for a day, due to blood loss. 4 liters IV in the ER, and a transfusion in the ICU. Won the wrong lottery Wednesday after having a colonoscopy...

Come to think of it, having a great day.

...after all that! 4 liters, that's crazy. So sorry you had to go through that but so thankful you were able to take your walk in -6° weather. Great day, indeed.

I know you took a long walk but are you ok now?

...we have had our fill with that here in N. Texas. My fiancee's daughters and other family members were literally in the path of the one that hit Rowlette a couple weeks or so ago. When they got back from running away from that path, they determined that the tornado got within one mile of the home they were at. A family friend, on the other hand, can open her front door and see the damage path right in Rowlette. Crazy weathers we're all havin'!

I felt the roof and house move in my sleep, but went back to sleep not realizing it was that serious until I saw the 'Tornado Warning' text when I woke this am. First tornado I can recall over at least fifteen years.

Have an enjoyable MLK weekend.
