The Federal government should raise grazing fees to reflect market prices as on private land.
In raising these fees the Feds should name Cliven Bundy as the person who has brought this needed action to their awareness. That the gravy train is over.
Hey, rightwingers want government "ran like a business" don't they?
Watch other ranchers turn on them.

(20,576 posts)5. yes - let the free market
determine their grazing fees. Really, why should someone who lives near government land and uses it at subsidized cost have that advantage over the ranchers who are paying top dollar for private land grazing? One would think the other ranchers would be complaining as it is.

(33,310 posts)6. One Problem: they don't think there should be ANY grazing fees
or management of that resource. They don't think the BLM should "own" the land.

(33,310 posts)9. i think that's the essence of their protest
"we ranchers know best how to manage the land. not some pointy-headed paper-pusher in DC. now stand back while I bulldoze through this field of prehistoric artifacts!"

The Bundys have thousands? of dollars of unpaid grazing fees already and flat out refuse to pay them.
