We're on the northern edge of the storm, and it has just started snowing.

Inside the beltway, so in area of predicted deep snow. Last time I checked, about 6 pm, we had 5.5 inches of very light, fluffy snow. If that continues, we'll get a very deep snow, but it's better than heavy wet snow which damages trees and power lines.

I'm snug, with everything I need. If the power goes out I can run the generator in our RV to keep the house warm and the lights on. I have water, food, and wood for the fireplace.

Dog will have a very cold butt when she does her business tomorrow, but I bought her a new coat to give her some protection from the high winds.

A couple of exits east of Dulles, and the snow is medium-heavy, guessing 7-8 inches. Still have power, yay!

neighbors fine. All is good!

Well, except the roads are shit. We've got at least 6 inches of snow with sleet on top of it, with more snow overnight. But we're all snug in our rugs.

arrived last Wednesday from Chicago. The storm coverage has whipped ME up into a frenzy of concern, but I talked to him and he is fine. He is stocked up on food (and alcohol) and several people on his floor work at his office, so he is not alone. I appreciate the news from those of you familiar with the area.

...so we'll see what we get for the first 2016 Snowmageddenpolcalypse of Doomy-doom-doom-doom.

Have heat, have power, have food. The wine/beer/booze shop was packed, 'cause a lot of people were stocking up on those. As one fellow line-stander said, "Nobody's doin' nuthin' tomorrow."

They say it should start by dawn. I hope the storms blows out to sea. I dislike snow. Stay safe.
