but you can't let one person defile the institution. Many of my family members graduated from the Academy and by no means were they rich or trouble makers. Of course, I'm talking 1916 thru 1952. Only in the mid to late 60s did private military academies become havens for the really rich, brat kids.

At one point in time, NYMA considered themselves the unofficial prep school for West Point.....many went there hoping that they could get an appointment to the Point.

I apologize if I came across the wrong way.

However, back when Trump was coming up, when you had a male child that was getting into trouble, you sent him to military school. This was true not just for the rich. The reason was if they got into too much trouble, the government would send them to "reform school" which was in many cases as bad or worse than real prisons. I'm sure Trump was sent to the best military school money could buy, but it still doesn't change the reason why he was sent there in the first place, which was because he was (and still is) a festering asshole.
