Recently found out my very Republican boss and two other Republican co-workers

are probably going to sit this election out. They don't like anyone and they have basically tuned out. This all occurred while I was up at our main office for meetings last week and politics came up at lunch. Also, we were watching the news at his house when they started talking about Carly Fiorina saying "Unlike Hillary she likes being with her husband" and his wife who is also quite conservative thought that was extremely tacky and uncalled for. However, there was not one candidate they liked on either side. Who knows, they may still hold their breath and vote for Trump or whomever but if they are thinking about sitting things out that means a lot of Republican's are not motivated.

Just a little snap-shot into the conservative world that surrounds me.

PS. I also remember them being really worried Trump would piss someone off and get us into a war. If people think you could cause WWIII you no longer win on National Security.

and both D's and R's seem to be pissed at the lousy choices they're getting.

Watch for low turnout.

Or Bloomberg to get serious support.

say they are not going to vote this time. In fact all I hear for the most part is I'm voting for Bernie Sanders because I like what his stance on the issues are.

Thats what I'm hearing.
That as well as life long republiCONs saying they're looking to vote for Bernie this time

Hillary supporters who say they'll not support Bernie is all well and good, (we can win without them,) as the last thing we need is blue dog democrats. Remember the last time we had a hand full of those. Democrats couldn't get shit done as we didn't have enough votes to count on. I'd rather have a true red 'CON as a blue dog Dem.

I'm in red Oklahoma and I'm hearing a whole different conversation than you are where ever you live.

I am jubilant that Sanders will be our next President. we'll get shit done too because he isn't afraid to call anyone out on whatever they say or do. He is a fearless leader

and we're deep purple. We lost our moderate Dem Congressman last time out because of incredible pressure from the other side and not enough of our turnout to stop it. Our POS Democratic governor and senior Senator gave him very little help.

Bernie has the action around here, but that's not exactly a lot of action. After the initial Obama rush in some quarters 8 years ago, Dem enrollment has increased slightly, but activity has slowed down.

I really have no idea how things will turn out in November. Again, it has a lot to do with what goes on in Albany. Cuomo and Schumer can't be counted on.

Living in the Bible Belt I know plenty of Republicans and like you say they are not really enthused to vote ~for~ anyone but they damn sure light up if you mention Hillary. They'll be in a good lather if she wins the Democratic nomination.

but when it comes down to them staying at home rather than hating the Democrat enough, history is on the side of hate.

I like stories like your story, but I bet they vote Trump or whoever else..it will be Trump.

They are generally good people that have been raised in conservative areas and pretty much been indoctrinated. It's funny as my Boss's wife's Dad is ultra-conservative and she is too but her two sisters turned out extremely liberal.

good people who support a party that is misogynistic, homophobic, xenophobic, anti-worker, anti-science, pro-torture, etc.

God knows, the GOP is horrible and do not deserve to be elected, and they are in disarray and all their candidates are terrible.

Still you know the media will do their best to make it a close race.

as do all Republicans who sit out the vote. Hopefully, this extends to not bothering to vote for congressional seat-warmers as well.

Bravo, apathetic Republicans! Bravo!

Many of my republican friends are dismayed by the clown car of republican candidates. While, none will vote for Hillary or Sanders, they sit this one out.

I wanted to get her reaction on it. At first she pooh-poohed, but became very intrigued at the idea of the 6.2% employer tax. She said if we could get that she'd be on board, cuz the biggest PITA they have to deal with is insurance. She said she do anything to get out from under balancing raises, bonuses, new hires and equipment purchases against the current and future costs of insurance. Her business pays most of the insurance with employees picking up a small tab.

This woman is as conservative as they come, right down to the birther crap. But show her a way to save time & money, she'd jump ship in a heartbeat!

The snap-shot is useful - I think time listening and looking for an opening is worth a shot. When it gets too intolerable I excuse myself, do more research and live to fight another day!
