You know we really don't need the government messing around in the safety of food and consumer

products...

The market will dictate what is good for the market. I mean, if it gets out that ACME Egg Farm sells out of date and contaminated eggs to the public will come out as soon as some people get sick.

The market should dictate that, cause you know that invisible hand will guide us all toward the best and safest products.

Sure some people will be hurt or maybe even killed but really, who needs some damn pointy headed liberal telling us what to do...

How long before it gets this blatant...

I wonder if all those Tea Baggers realize the end result of their undermining the social contract.

They just want smaller government, and if this is the result....well, let the buyer beware.

Hopefully, it won't get anywhere near this blatant.

Some really good, sharp examples of how deregulation can really hurt people will probably do the trick.

turn out to not be able to navigate a complex society....

Oh wait, that is probably the true end game the supporters want, ignorant people to be easily manipulated...

If we just got rid of the FDA my taxes would be like 10 cents less.

And while that is marginal and really wouldn't help anyone, added together it would mean we could buy more drones to fly over the middle east and get rid of our real problems. You know: Mr. & Mrs. Al Kaida and family.

let the drunk drivers alone. Look at all the jobs they killed just to save a few lives!

Do we care how many people we kill to keep the "defense" industry raking in bucks? Hell no!

There was a time (even I can remember it) when you knew the person who owned the chickens that hatched the eggs you bought and you bought those eggs directly from that person. It's not like that any more.

People are less likely to cheat the neighbor they see in their community than some stranger way across the country or maybe even in a different country.

Times have changed. Republicans refuse to admit it, but they have.

We need the government to insure that our products are safe for us and our children. There just isn't any other way to protect ourselves.
