An interesting new requirement for taxes is coming next year

I just filed my taxes online and when I went to sign there was a prompt for my drivers licence number or state id. Apparently it isn't required this year but will be next year. I had no clue this was coming down the pike.

remember the fraudulent returns that was diverted to prepaid credit cards last year?

This is one additional measure to make sure it matches up.
