Imagine for a single terrifying minute that Trump is elected President...

My husband raised this possibility:

He is elected. His choice for Vice-President is along for the ride.

After a few days, weeks, months...Trump resigns. The country is left with whoever he chose as his running mate.

Ted, Marco, Jeb, Sarah...??? It could happen.

If this scenario doesn't scare the crap out of you, go ahead and sit the election out if your preferred Democratic candidate doesn't win the nomination.

The presidency is the ultimate power trip for a guy like Trump. He'd never resign. He'll delegate the task of presidenting to whoever his vice-president is, and confine himself to ceremonial work.

The vice presidential slot won't go to any of those people. Palin CAN'T take the job - this time around, the press is going to start poking around in the trail of shit she's left behind her. And he's not going to tap anyone who ran against him in the primary. My bet is Jan Brewer.

versions. Unfortunately, it does seem to me also that this scenario would be possible, as much the stuff of fiction as that a man like Trump could be within reach of the presidency.

Does anyone think Trump wants the work of the presidency, work that even he might have problems making all about him? He almost certainly has a clinical personality disorder that makes him crave attention but seriously warps his judgement and functioning. That "I could shoot someone" statement and skipping the Fox debate in a pet are not behaviors of someone who unwilling to lose the nomination. So, yes, walk out on the office? I'm with your husband, and those who think ALL the GOP candidates are somewhat to very scary this year. How did so many sociopathic personalities make it this far?

I've informed my family and I have zero qualms about quitting my job to pursue my true passion.
