If you were somehow forced to choose between President Donald Trump and President Ted Cruz:

He's an obnoxious blowhard but who knows if he actually believes a word he says? He's an asshole to be sure but what he isn't is a fanatic. Cruz has the slimy sheen of the true-believing lunatic. Trump would never torch the planet to bring Jebus back. Cruz would in a nanosecond.

This is more of a highly hypothetical thought experiment. Sorry if I did not make that clear enough.

Trump is blustery, scheming and shrewd, but I don't think he is evil, just a horse's ass (sorry horse asses everywhere).

Cruz, however, is pure evil. He's a McCarthy type that would most likely harass and witch hunt every Democratic voter and office holder in the country. After seeing that "Voting Violation" mailing, it is clear that there is no low that he will not sink to. He'd run the government straight off of a cliff if his past actions are any indication of how much he hates Democracy.

I'll preface with the fact that this is strictly a choice of two horrible, horrible outcomes.

I see Ted Cruz as Bush Cheney Part 2. We barely survived that....but we survived.

I see Donald Trump as (name your fascist dictator) Part 2. I have no idea whether we will survive that....and I don't want to.

I see Ted Cruz as being such a turn off to both his own party and ours that he'll be rather ineffective in getting any of his ideology into law. He's a paper tiger. Remember the shutdown? He wanted to be considered a national hero, and America just shrugged and wanted its national parks back.

Donald Trump is a raging narcissistic ego maniac who is stirring up hatred with his words. Ideological or not, that just scares the ever living shit out of me.

But if you want an honest response, I'd be consider voting for Prime Minister Trudeau's party while drinking my Molson's at Tim Horton's before I ever would desire to live in a country run by either of those horrible human beings.

Cruz has only one friend, and that's himself. Nobody who has ever worked with him has ever had something nice to say about him.

I could see where Republicans in Congress might not be very supportive at all of a President Cruz.
