Every side will get something they want, and I believe she could be confirmed. Think about this for a minute.
What the Republicans get from this:
They would no longer have to face her in the general election (not that that's set in stone, but every Republican thins she will win the nomination).
Someone who is not 50, so they can say she'll probably only stay on for 15-20 years.
What the Democrats get from this:
Someone far to the left of Scalia, and a good reasonable liberal who would be on their side on the vast majority of judicial issues.
Her withdrawal from the Democratic nomination and Bernie running unopposed. How sweet is that?
What Clinton gets:
A lifetime appointment. IMO this is even better than being President.
This could realistically satisfy all sides.

(37,573 posts)is that with Bernie leading the ticket, they would take 40 states in winning the Presidency and also sweep in super-majorities in both houses of Congress.

(2,188 posts)The is zero chance Obama can't get anyone confirmed to the left of Hillary. That's a fact. I'd rather have her than no one for 11 months.

(20,234 posts)Of liberal lower court rulings, the tie goes to the liberals. We win even if they don't replace anyone.
