Wizard World Comic Con In Rosemont, Illinois!
The convention is August 9th through the 12th and I have tickets for myself and my two daughters. This is something different for our vacation this year because we've done the relatives thing to death lately.
I know what you may be thinking. This is what Dad wants to do and he managed to get his daughters on board for it. Slick talkin' Dad, right? ("You don't want to go? No college fund for YOU!"
That's not really the case. I have never been to a comic convention other than local, small-time events when I was still collecting stuff. No guests of honor at these events, just plenty of back issues to fill some gaps.
It's my daughters who most want to go so they can see some Buffy and Angel co-stars and Stan Lee himself.
The only 'real' convention I attended was a Sci-Fi convention in Tulsa a good twenty five years ago.
I was wondering if anyone could suggest a hotel to book for the duration. Price is no object so long as it's cheap!
And of course if any DUers happen to be in the vicinity, I'd be more than privileged to meet them.
I can't conceive of us wanting to spend the entire four days actually AT the convention so any suggestions about other things to visit would also be appreciated.
I know these are open-ended requests regarding the Chicago area and I can look up all this info for myself but the opinions of actual people who KNOW something would be welcome.
