Nations' 1st minimum wage law: 100 years ago today, in Massachusetts

The effort for livable wage was led by activist Mary Dewson.

"At Wellesley, she was senior class president and her classmates believed she might one day be elected president of the United States."

Her reports became the basis for the Minimum Wage Act, June 4 1912 in Massachusetts.
