Teen shot by Salt Lake City cops while wielding broomstick identified as 17-year-old Abdi Mohamed

Mohamed’s friend, Selam Mohammed, told Fox 13 that Abdi had just picked up a piece of the broomstick when cops tried to break up the brawl — with guns drawn.
“The police said, ‘drop it’, once, then they shot him,” Selam Mohammed said. “We were trying to break it up before the police even came, but the police ran in on foot and pulled their guns out already.
