Les Moonves, the chief executive of CBS, celebrated Donald Trump’s candidacy for the second time on Monday, calling it “good for us economically.” Moonves, speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference at the Park Hotel in San Francisco, described the “circus” of a presidential campaign and the flow of political advertising dollars, and stated that it “may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS, that’s all I got to say.”

“So what can I say? The money’s rolling in, this is fun,” Moonves continued, observing that the debates had attracted record audiences.

There ya go! CEO of CBS comes out and says what we already knew.

As a Bernie supporter, I have noticed the absence of coverage of Bernie - but - over the last few days I have noticed that they are not covering Hillary either. Breaking News has become Trump is speaking!!

2. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if someone in the media put him up to it for ratings.

6. Having worked in news, let me clue you in to a dirty little secret:

Donald Trump, when he's making his usual outrageous wacky comments, is like a plane crash, a natural disaster and a mass shooting all rolled into one (nobody is allowed to say it outright, but these are also ratings gold for TV news)...

In fact, oddly enough Trump is even better than a breaking news disaster, since the public has shown no fatigue whatsoever to his constant coverage... All people had to do was not watch...

Besides, you're telling me that an outsider mentally twisted demagogue who is halfway to winning his party's nomination for president isn't news??

As an aside, the Intercept has NO moral ground to stand on whatsoever when it comes to calling out other news outlets for whoring for ratings/mouse clicks
