Why hell don't the Dem candidates talk about this on the campaign trail?

It's a big damn issue with the Republicans when it is rising.

Going in the right direction, but "going in the right direction" is a bit of narrative few people on either side are attracted to. Especially in an election year, and lately election years seem to be much longer and more frequent than they used to be.
