It may look as if Donald Trump has a lock on being the GOP candidate for president, but on Super Tuesday, after all the excitement died down, the speeches were over, and most of the lights were turned off, the infamous political attorney Ben Ginsberg walked in with a mind-blowing revelation. It seems the Republican establishment is plotting to rip the position away from the Donald....

If Trump doesn’t have enough delegates by the time the Republican National Convention takes place in Cleveland in late July, then a “brokered convention” happens. Here is what Ginsberg said:
‘If you were to devise a plan to stop a runaway nominee, you would have to do a lot of state-by-state organizing. (This is) the equivalent of a triple bank shot: (I)t has not happened in history, but neither had a presidential recount.’...

That means the Republicans would start some significant deal making among the convention delegates on the convention floor. Those deals could include:
‘…who would be on the ticket, reforms to the party platform, cabinet position, and so much more.’...

More importantly, all of the GOP establishment is dissatisfied with a possible Trump win. So, it looks as if a brokered convention might be inevitable.

No risk that some crazy election fluke gives us president Trump, and he still destroys the GOP when all his supporters go batshit insane at the establishment installing their candidate at the convention.

Trump already isn't much below 50% of the total delegates to date. And several future primaries are winner-take-all, which could push him well over 50%.

5. GOP is screwed. There is no good scenario for them,

including:

1) A Trump win in the general election...the leader of their party would likely make news as often as Rob Ford did, as an uncontrollable, unpredictable wild hair who loves controversy. He's more than likely to mess everything up and make enormous, highly visible blunders. It's possible he could get into office and realize he's in way over his head and quit (making his VP choice more than interesting). Neither is good for the history books.

2) The Emergence of a challenger....a last minute surge or a last minute addition to the GOP slate would tempt him to go third party and hand the general election over to the dems. Tragically for them, this might be the GOPs best option.

3) A brokered convention...not only would the GOP lose Trump supporters for the general, but their dysfunction would be in the media 24/7. A boon for corporate media...another OJ chase only more political. A giant mess....PLUS Trump would LOVE to sue their asses off for billions of dollars for an unprecedented stiff arm. He falls out of bed in the morning suing people, right? The GOP and individuals would be named and it will be a nightmare for them. If they think this is a possibility, they'd better start dissolving their hard drives in acid right now.

4) Trump gets the nomination and loses the general...in addition to likely losing both the WH and senate, the GOP has to deal with the embarrassment of where the party and base is. Can't see Trump allowing himself to lose, so look for a way for him to blow this option up before he loses.

5) Trump quits before the convention, while ahead. Don't know how many believe he really wants to be president anyway. Trump will not only blame the GOP but probably sue them for everything their donors have (a lot). He will actively disparage their candidates everyday in vicious tweets. Trump won't endorse anyone and his former supporters won't vote. Or...maybe he'll just up and declare that his candidacy was a joke played on conservatives to expose their insanity...that no one in their right minds would take those positions...that his Colbert-like character was performance art meant to convey the opposite message. Also not a good reflection on the GOP, to say the least.

They're toast. Maybe we're ALL screwed too?

7. Just said on MSNBC mtpress: Rubio stating plainly that they'll broker the convention.

So, the beautiful thing is, when they do this, and piss off all of Frump's voters, what do they do in November????

Choice 1. Stay home.
Choice 2. Do what the party tells them and vote for Cruz
Choice 3. Vote Hillary, because if you thought they were angry before........

What other choice do they have? He'll go 3rd party otherwise and they have zero shot at winning. The prevailing opinion will be, 'better to have a shot with a wildcard than no shot at all'.
