He was just 60. Totally out of the blue.
Hug your loved ones people, let them know how much they mean to you. None of us are guaranteed another day.

(8,028 posts)When I was little, I remember watching my grandmother go to funeral after funeral in the cemetery next to the elementary school. I'd be playing at recess and my grandmother would again be standing in the cemetery, dressed in black with her black umbrella. She was only 53 back then. She ended up watching every friend, neighbor and sibling go before her. She finally left when she was 93. Now, I'm older than my grandmother was, and it's already started...
I'm sorry for the loss of your friend's brother.

Life truly is short, and oh-so precious.

I"m 67, and I don't think I'm all that old, but I'm horrified at how many high school classmates are already gone.

(14,195 posts)His children and friends knew it was bad, and were all able to see him while he was ok. Everyone got to laugh, talk about stuff, & hug each other. Then he was gone.

(31,373 posts)My husband got a call from the daughter of a friend and colleague on Sunday evening: her father had gone to take a nap in the afternoon
and never woke up.
Sudden death like that is very unnerving. I'm so sorry.
