Everyone WATCH!

from Donna Edwards: We expect millions

Since the Goucher poll was released this week showing us up 39-37, we've been preparing for the toughest stretch of this campaign.

Over the next 8 weeks, we expect millions of dollars to be spent against us to stop our momentum. These ads and attacks will be funded by money from corporate special interests and from big donors who don't want a progressive like me in the U.S. Senate.

With thousands of voters set to make up their minds in the next couple weeks and just a short time left to persuade them, I need to ask you -- will you stand with me and contribute now so we can hold off the coming attacks? The only way we can win is with your help.

This campaign is about families who work hard every day, parents who piece together everything they have just so they can send their kid to college, and those who have fought to rise up in a system built to hold them back.

These voices need to be heard in the Senate, and we can't let anything stop us.

Stand with me and contribute now. We win when we all stand together and don't back down.

Thank you for everything you do,

Donna

She's a GREAT progressive voice!

EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Donna Edwards for Senate in Maryland.

“Donna Edwards is a true progressive champion with an outstanding record of fighting for women and families in Congress,” said EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock. “She is poised to make history as the second African-American woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate – the first in over two decades. In 1986, EMILY’s List helped Barbara Mikulski, our very first endorsed candidate, shatter a glass ceiling as the first Democratic woman elected to the Senate in her own right. Today, the EMILY’s List community – now over three million members strong – is committed to keeping this seat in the hands of a courageous Democratic woman. Donna Edwards shares the progressive Maryland values needed to carry on this important legacy, and EMILY’s List is proud to endorse her strong campaign for U.S. Senate.”

A progressive organizer and advocate with a long history of standing up for women, Donna Edwards has a reputation for bringing people together to get things done. She worked tirelessly to pass the Violence Against Women Act in 1994, organizing Americans from across the country to support the law. Running to represent Maryland’s Fourth District in 2008, Donna defeated a multi-term incumbent in the primary and went on to win the general election. Once in Congress, she got to work right away, continuing her fight for fairness by ensuring Maryland children had access to a critical after-school nutrition program and fighting for infrastructure to create jobs and improve the economy. Instead of focusing on political posturing or the next election, she’s kept the interests of hardworking Maryland families front and center. And she’s continued to stand up for women, cosponsoring legislation to keep corporate CEOs from interfering with their employees’ access to reproductive health care, voting against cutting federal funding for Planned Parenthood, cosponsoring the Paycheck Fairness Act, and leading the fight for an Affordable Care Act provision protecting Americans against excessive rate increases.
