Pastor that met with Ted Cruz gunned down in church parking lot.

http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2016/mar/06/coeur-dalene-pastor-shot-in-the-parking-lot-of-the/

A well-known Coeur d’Alene pastor who prayed Saturday with Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz was shot six times as he was leaving the Altar Church after Sunday services.

Pastor Tim Remington, who has helped hundreds of alcoholics and drug addicts in his ministry, was shot just before 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the church at 901 E. Best Ave., according to Coeur d’Alene police.

The shooter fled in a Silver car and is still at large, Police Chief Lee White said.

From what I'm seeing in the press, the shooter went to church that morning, sat in the audience, then went outside with the crowd, waited for the pastor to come outside, and put six holes in his back.

Here's what his church believes: http://www.altarcda.com/what_we_believe.html

I hope he doesn't use this. I feel bad for the family and those the Pastor was helping.

Good news!

He has poor taste in presidential candidates but it sounds like he's a very caring person.

IIRC they're about 2% fatal with immediate medical attention and 10% fatal without (obviously if you go long enough without attention that you get sepsis or gangrene that's a different story).

Do you have any thoughts on the current situation of what's happening with gay marriage in Coeur d'Alene or the state of Idaho?

I am not pleased with any of it because it's so poorly represented in what it really is. We take in a lot of (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) and we rehab them. The pain that they go through. We're making a video that we'll put out soon. We've made a couple of them. Testimonies of these particular people and what really goes on in that community ... The pain and agony these people go through, why they are who they are, what society is doing, if we don't understand it, we're going to be paying for it. We don't understand what it does to societies in general, that are like that. If you put them all on an island, one generation and we're all gone, if that's what you want to do. It's funny because I do a lot of counseling to them, and I love them dearly, and I'll help anybody I can help. I'm counseling somebody now, that as far as they want a child and everything, it's like, 'Well, let's sit down and think about this. You have a problem with God's ways, and yet you want a child. But if you want a child, guess what you have to return to have a child? God's ways.' And it really wakes them up because they're so anti-God, so anti-spiritual, religious, they're so anti-God, and I don't know if anybody hasn't loved them, there's been so much dysfunction. It's all around us, it's in our homes and our government. We rehab them right and left. They come in, they have lived at my house, I've had hundreds from that community live with us. They do change their ways, some of them. 98 percent of them change their ways.

He could have fired back. Then a huge gun fight could have emerged in a public parking lot! And I am sure stray bullets would not have hit anyone else in this public place as these 2 highly skilled combatants excersized their constitutional right to bear arms.

Such a shame the pastor doesn't heed all of Cruz's social advice.

Perhaps the shooter was simply "standing his ground."

I'm wondering how a guy in trouble, in rehab, probably cannot legally own a gun, obtain a gun?!

I can answer that question easily though. This is Idaho...my neighbor was just showing off his new AR15 he got for Christmas. Ahh, gun show loopholes and straw purchases.

The shooter, Kyle Odom, is still on the loose. I hope he's not headed this way...
