But since he's running for president and talking about national security issues, him "talking to generals" just doesn't cut it. If he doesn't have a clearance the generals wouldn't give him any info.

This question isn't based on the debate tonite. Just a question I've been wanting to ask.

if he or she is in some sort of job that requires one. Many years ago I had a job where I was supposed to get a security clearance, but I wasn't planning to stay there very long, so I didn't bother to fill out the paperwork for it. It wouldn't have come through before I would be leaving, so why bother.

The Donald has never been employed by any such entity.

my job requires a clearance and I can see him being vetted now, but not 6 months ago. Yet he's spouted national security issues from day one.
