Per CNN. He was in some kind of crash last night and is in ICU. That's why Palin cancelled her Drumpf appearance.
Well, I hate all they stand for but I wish the guy a good recovery. I also expect Drumpf to use it.

(15,480 posts)Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalized, Trumps campaign said in a release. Governor Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr. Trumps thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time.
NBC News reported that Todd Palin was in a very serious crash Sunday night and is currently hospitalized in intensive care.
Talking night time and Palins, probably was alcohol involved.

(970 posts)A tree branch or rock hidden by snow, a patch of ice under one ski with the other in soft snow, a moment of distraction, snow softer than expected on a turn... All sorts of things can cause problems. Coupled with the speed usually involved with the machines, it can get bad very quickly.
I've been around those for quite a while, and seen some bad stuff happen for many reasons.
Best wishes to the guy, the trauma possible with those sort of incidents can be severe.

(135,425 posts)In a statement, Trump's campaign said: "Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalized. Governor Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr. Trump's thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time."
The former Alaska governor will stop by a Trump town hall in Tampa but has canceled her other planned appearances with the GOP frontrunner, whom she endorsed earlier this year. She has been in contact with medical personnel and will be traveling back to Alaska today, the source said.
Palin was scheduled to appear on Trump's behalf at noon ET in The Villages, Florida. Just minutes before its scheduled start time, the Trump campaign advised that the event had been canceled....

I wish him a speedy recovery and if I am to be honest, I cannot help but wonder if alcohol was involved.

(135,425 posts)I know up in northern Maine there is this restaurant-bar at the end of a well groomed, wide, and neatly defined trail that some enthusiasts like to go eat/drink at and then putter home, but you'd think it would be smart to take your time and go slow in the dark like that...I know they have halfassed headlights...but still...!!!

(15,480 posts)As a scuba diver I got certified on a dive propulsion vehicle, also known as an underwater propulsion vehicle. That was on a great dive trip to Grand Cayman. Back when I could afford to travel, before the 2008 crash and I lost most of my retirement savings. Glad I went on a lot of dive trips, would have lost the money anyway and I had some hella great experiences - the best was diving on sunken WW II Japanese ships in Micronesia (Truk Lagoon).
UPVs are seen in several James Bond films. The top models can go to 130 feet (maximum depth for a recreational diver) and operate for more than an hour. Cue the 007 theme.
