Press Secretary Josh Earnest speaking today about the Republican candidates
"Unfortunately, we do still see prominent Republican after prominent Republican line up and pledge to support Mr. Trump if hes the party nominee. And for the life of me, I just dont understand how they do that. It makes it a little hard to take seriously their hand-wringing about his divisive rhetoric, and the kinds of messages that hes delivering in the context of his political rallies.
Its pretty clear, I think to most people, to most observers, exactly what Mr. Trump is up to, but its not clear at all what the rest of the Republican Party is up to. Because on one hand, they wring their hands about Mr. Trumps behavior, but then when asked, they pledge fealty to his campaign in the hopes that he will be elected to lead the greatest country on the planet. At some point, somebody in the Republican Party is going to have to step up and show some leadership. But weve been waiting awhile."
I posted about this topic earlier and it sunk like a stone. People here seem to prefer posting multiple times about the outrageous things Trump does or post negative OP about the DEM candidates.
This is the real point -- the other GOP candidates wring hands about Trump but do not denounce him or his tactics. That makes them no better than him.
DUer's respectfully - stop focusing on Trump and allowing him to be the show that he is. That suggests one of the other GOP candidates would be better. None of the GOP candidates show leadership. None of them would be better than Trump.
