Is anyone surprised?
WASHINGTON Donald Trumps recently released plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act would drive up the federal deficit by nearly $500 billion over the next decade and cause 21 million Americans to lose health coverage, according to a new independent analysis.
Trumps Healthcare Reform to Make America Great Again plan, which the GOP presidential front-runner outlined on his campaign website last month, does not include much detail.
But its major planks including repealing Obamacare, deregulating health insurance and offering tax breaks to help Americans get coverage would likely have a devastating effect, the new analysis from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget concludes.
Mr. Trumps plan to repeal and replace Obamacare based on the details available would both add to the deficit and significantly reduce coverage, the report notes.

(23,856 posts)the thing i can't figure out about this is why he'd even bother publishing any policy at all. his fans don't give a shit about policy, as long as it involves some kind of hating on minorities they're good. by trying to get serious about any of this, he just puts himself in a position to be criticized on details by people like Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich who, for all their other various flaws, i would expect to comprehend such policy statements. or at least have people on staff capable of doing so for them.
