I have been hibernating since November. My sleep cycle is returning to normal because I have been falling asleep too early.
Instead of 8:30 or 9:00, I stay awake about an hour earlier and wake up at 5 or 6 instead of 3 or 4 in the morning.
And I'm more energetic. Yay, Spring! It's 74 and trees are putting out leaves.

(8,791 posts)It's weird how every year leading up to DST i start waking up earlier and earlier, almost like my body is anticipating it and adjusting its rhythm to the time change that's coming.

(15,220 posts)I would prefer that the time be set and remain constant. It's the changing back and forth that bugs me. Given the preference, I would do away with DST. Nature all on its own will right the "lights" as we progress more into summer.

(49,533 posts)I love DST because it means the sun is up past 9pm for a good chunk of the summer. Extra time to get yardwork and gardening done, or sit on the patio with friends and drinks.
We should just use DST all year round, I think. More sun in the afternoon and evening.
I vote for DST all year round too.

(1,683 posts)On where you live in the time zone. If you live on the eastern edge of the time zone, the morning darkness is more tolerable. If you live on the western edge, the morning darkness is more extreme. Whether you ;live in the northern part of the time zone could affect your reaction to the time change as well.
People who live in cities and have young children walking to school also may hate the longer morning darkness.

(581 posts)I'd rather it get light at 6AM and dark at 9PM in the middle of summer, than light at 5AM and dark at 8PM. I guess I wouldn't mind leaving at DST all year, except it would get light really late in the mornings in winter.
