The republicans would put in a stark raving Republican. And here we are caving before a fight even starts again. Some say he is playing 3d chess. All he is doing is offering them a republican with a liberal second choice to make them take the republican before they risk a liberal. Not so complicated. Not 3d..

There are many excellent jurists out there who aren't flaming liberals. Sri Srinivasan was approved 97 - 0 for the federal bench, and if Obama sends his name over its going to make those bastards really squirm.
And by all accounts he'd be a real asset to the SCOTUS.
