The "Conservative" Brand

Since the election of Ronald Reagan, Republicans have proudly declared themselves "conservatives". But, in this election, their "pro-life", pro-evangelical, pro-family, pro-war positions are not working. They are losing to Donald Trump in the presidential race. "Conservatives" are losing big. Their brand simply does not sell anymore - not even in their own Party.

Trump? A friend tells me that Glenn Beck hates Trump. In some ways Hillary Clinton is more conservative than Trump.

He's eased off on his Cruz support a little, perhaps attempting to give himself an out if Trump is the nominee?

They were just greedy, mean spirited and small minded.

If they were truly conservative, they would recognize that unbridled personal and corporate greed is trashing the very basic environmental factors - water, air, food, etc. - that make life possible for them, their families, their children and their children's children.

But Repubes have never given a shit about that. They are radical greed heads who use the word "conservative" as a sneakyass cover for who they really are and what they are really doing to America and the world.
