He is a celebrity.. I live in California and saw this state twice elect Arnold Schwarzenegger, mostly because he was a celebrity. I am worried that enough people in this country would vote for "the Donald" for the same reason. I used to have faith and just in my fellow citizens that when push came to shove we won't do the right thing.. I am losing that faith..

(5,902 posts)Celebrity might just be enough for Trump if she's the nominee simply because her own negatives among independents, swing voters, and occasionals are through the roof.
Schwarzenegger is a great analogy: he was elected not so much on his own merits or even his celebrity, as he was in a wave of (undeserved) resentment against Governor Gray Davis.
I lived in L.A. throughout the Gropenegger years, samrock, and I feel your pain (well, he wasn't that bad).
Peace!

(7,963 posts)Trump is just a racist, showman. He doesn't stand a chance. People may not understand policies and issues, but they sure as hell understand racism. Many have to live with it--which makes them even more compelled to get out and vote. There are record number of Latinos getting naturalized and registering to vote for the first time---and it sure as hell not to vote for Trump. He is not just in trouble. He doesn't stand a chance.
