I don't like Ted Cruz, but I have a confession.

This 5 mistresses story actually makes me feel sympathetic toward him.

1st - there's a well hidden side to his personality that apparently makes him fuckable. Not a one off duped a vulnerable lady kind of thing, but a large number of women were actually charmed by his ugly mug. Very well hidden. Who knew?

2nd - he's still the enemy of my enemy. Yes he's a monster for his RWNJ policy ideas and a giant hypocrite to boot. But at least he's not a fascist. In today's republican party that is actually quite refreshing. People who say Cruz is farthur to the right than Trump are missing the point. Cruz is scum, but he's conventional scum.

When he loses the election, he'll give a smarmy concession speech and go home. If Trump gets nominated he'll have a number of vicious tricks up his sleeve to manipulate the election to his will. He's agile and therefore more electable than Cruz. If Trump does get close enough to make it a tight race the damage he'd do to democracy is unimaginable. Hed break any rule and play any trick and start any riot to get into office. Cruz is a known quantity. America has rejected his ilk before

3rd - behind the "screw every thing he can grab" aspect to this story is the story of a troubled marriage and a husband that stood beside his wife as she struggled with depression during a tough patch on their marriage. That makes him likeable despite the obvious irony that he probably opposes extending mental healthcare coverage to less affluent Americans.

Al his problems only contribute to his ultimate unelectability... and that too only only me like Ted Cruz more.

and Gary Hart.

Again, one mistress could be a set up. But evidence of five affairs?

And of it is a set up, then it shows how much we'd be in trouble running against Trump on the fall.

Can you quickly tick off the list of things in "evidence"?

The story does not even allege that he had affairs. Read it closely.

There's been whispers about this and the Rubio stuff for more than a few months now. The Lobbyist he's supposedly had an affair with - I think that one has teeth. They also broke IIRC - the Gary Harte thing.

Its true Cruz's policy ideas are more damaging than Trump's. But Cruz would have to get elected to be dangerous. This year, at least, that ain't gonna happen.

Trump doesn't have to get into office... he's doing his damage already. His ramping up of racist hatreds had already gotten people killed. His destruction to the ability of the electorate to have political dialogs corrodes democracy even without winning office. And again, corrupt as Cruz is, he does not advocate outright street violence to get his way like Trump does.

If the choice is between being in a room with a caged tiger and being in another room with a rabid baboon who knows how to unlock his cage, I know which to avoid.

I believe the last time the right-wing engaged in street violence we called it the Civil War.

Trump is the result of their tactics. He isn't the original cause. We can't blame Trump for the fact that black members of Congress were spit on during the Obamacare debate.

Every 4 to 8 years the Republicans go to a darker and darker place. I shudder to think of where it ends. But I don't think Trump is relevant to the ultimate ending. At most, he could effect the timing.

Or he's superficially charming and just happens to be in a position of power.

3rd - behind the "screw every thing he can grab" aspect to this story is the story of a troubled marriage and a husband that stood beside his wife as she struggled with depression during a tough patch on their marriage. That assumes the wife and kids aren't just props in his ongoing crusade for personal power.

Sorry, but Ted Cruz sets of my psychopath alarm. If he weren't running for office, he'd probably be luring people into white Ford Econolines.

Maybe it's not his personality. Maybe it's hidden under his briefs. Maybe his Chicago-style footlong hot dog, unlike Trump's, is the real thing.

1) I really don't care what anyone does in their personal life; I am a big believer in John 8 : 7.....that is until that person starts lecturing me and those around me about morality. Then they get what's coming to them.

2) I disagree with Robert Reich about a lot lately, but he and I agree on one point -- Cruz is a bigger threat to democracy in America than Donald Trump.

3) While I understand your point about his wife, this is the business he chose and that, by extension, she chose to take part. At this level of politics, you live in a glass house. It behooves one to behave. That said, the Clintons went through this -- but back to point 1, the Big Dog never lectured to me on how to live my life.
