Seeing Corporate Moves up close.

I was at the the hospital yesterday, meeting up with my newly assigned doctor. In the lobby there use to be a "Mom and Pop stye" coffee cart.. that not only made coffee but sold things like pastries, sandwiches, cookies, and had fruit. It was run by this lovely Chinese guy and his wife, and a few people he hired.

They are gone now. His cart was removed by the hospital and replaced with a STARBUCKS venue. The Coffee that was sold for 1.50 has doubled or tripled in price. I guess the Corporation must have given the Hospital an incentive to replace his freshly made coffee with a STARBUCKS that sells few items besides its highly priced coffees.

Yes, the vendors have to pay rent and usually a percentage of their take. LiberalArkie Mar 2016 #1

maybe they needed the extra money, for things they needed. I am saddened that they thought this Chinese guy and his crew should move on. He was well liked, and known by everyone. His people worked very hard there, and there were few lines because people were served quickly and efficiently. That can not be said about the Starbucks crew who have three people, and the lines are long.

What can be done about it? Absolutely nothing. Not a damn thing.
