A suicide bomber killed at least 29 people and injured at least 60 in an attack at a soccer stadium in central Iraq on Friday, according to the Associated Press.
The attack occurred in the town of Iskandariya, about 30 miles south of Baghdad. The bombing came as Iraqi military spokesman Yahya Rusoul announced that Iraqi troops and Sunni tribal fighters recaptured the western town of Kubeisa from the Islamic State group, the AP reports.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, CNNs Arwa Damon reports.
The attack comes three days after the deadly ISIS bombings in Brussels that killed at least 34 people. After that attack, Belgiums national team canceled its scheduled training session and moved next weeks friendly against Portugal to the Portuguese city of Leira.

Any coverage on M$Greedia? Any flowers for them? Any media heading there. Please don't expect interviews with their relatives.
Thanks George Bush, Dick Cheney and the rest of war criminals

(58,724 posts)That's why there isn't really mass media coverage of such events. It is literally an almost monthly occurrence.
The concern in the US is this sort of normalization of terror attacks in Iraq will eventually become the norm in Europe and then the United States.

(268,689 posts)who know that this started with an illegal war and occupation.
It's the norm - WTF!!!
I don't understand your comment. I was trying to explain why the US media does not give as much coverage to suicide bombings in Iraq as they do to the one Brussels. It is because of how unusual it is in Brussels. Iraq is a very violent place, thanks, in large part, to the war we started over there.

(268,689 posts)Now many people including M$Greedia see it as the norm. We created that mess
