Here's what Ted Cruz's future looks like: He will fulfill his duty of blocking Trump's nomination after which his new friends in the GOP establishment will turn their backs on him, nominating a more palatable candidate who will proceed to lose to Hillary Clinton. Cruz will return to the Senate, ostracized, unable to make his mark on any legislation. He will not be reelected.

Ted Cruz is now a broken man, loathed by all. Passerbys hurl insults at him when they see him in public, "Fuck you Cruz!" Heidi has divorced him and taken away his daughters. He opens up a private law practice somewhere as he descends into a life of alcoholism and pornography addiction.

But he doesn't go to prison. Not for this, anyways.
