Drumpf says it's unsafe for Americans to travel to Europe

Just goes to show you how he should never be president. I am in Venice now celebrating my 60th birthday. It is my birthday present from my hubby. There are so many different people here of races and religion. And many Muslims. I am not afraid one bit. I watched this on Sky news and Europe is horrified by his comments. They even talked about the petition to ban him from the UK. I am ashamed and horrified that he could be president. He called Europe " weak" for not being stronger on terrorism. Ughhhh!!!!

They won't come visit here anymore. My Irish cousin and his American wife left Brooklyn for Ireland so they could raise their children in a safe place where they're not worried some nut is going to walk into their school with an assault rifle and kill them.

My friends in England and I were trying to plan a summer holiday, and I invited them to come to NY--they sad I "thanks but no thanks" so we're going to to Italy or they'll visit me in Ireland (or both) as I'm probably renting a house or flat for the summer (health reasons).

I feel infinitely safer there than I do here...I'm not worried that some random gunhumper is going to shoot up a group just because or I'll get caught up in a drive-by. I feel especially safe in Ireland.

his comments."

Donald would figure out a way to build a wall around Venice so that only Italians could get in. Not all Italians, of course. The 2% of Italians who are Muslims would have to live somewhere else.

The idea that "many people ... of different races and religions" can live together (the dreaded 'multiculturalism') is anathema to Trump and many on the far-right.

Many if not most Americans who visit Europe behave themselves. We try to fit in and adapt to the culture we are visiting, rather than trying to impose an arrogant, narrow-minded and immature frame of mind on people.

When he went from being the bloke nobody had ever heard off to the one slagging off the Olympics.

On Radio 4 yesterday someone put this into context saying the death rate from the separatist terrorists of the 70s was much higher, and that historically Europe is safer than it's ever been. Definitely a lot safer than America whose homicide rate is through the roof due to ridiculous gun laws.

Having a lovely time aside from occasional showers. Visiting my grand-daughter who is going to school here.
Off to Paris for a two day visit later on this week.
Feeling perfectly safe.
Of course, as a New Yorker I tend to watch my back all the time anyway.

I had a birthday trip to Italy some years ago. We were returning to Venice, Florence, and
for the first time, visiting Bellagio on Lake Como. It was a lovely trip--in March--without crowds.

Enjoy!

Really, Trump is an arrogant, narcissistic, a$$hole. Talk about the Ugly American: he's the epitome of one.

Just because Trump is an asshole doesn't mean this shit's not real. There was a terrorist attack at a major European airport last week and people act like this is not a problem. It's really strange.

Not to mention how stingy employers are with vacation time. You get a week a year if you are lucky.

It's probably similar statistics in most other countries.

Worse still, there was a demonstration in the town I was visiting by the far right English Defense League.

And yet I felt safe all day, kept well away from where the EDL were being kettled up and had an enjoyable day watching rugby in a town (Rotherham) that's frequently cited by far right numpties as an example of how "pinko-commie Europe" is apparently really unsafe.

I'm not worried that I am going to find myself in close proximity to a fucknut looking for his seventy-two virgins. I am worried about being stranded at enormous expense because of said fucknut.

About half a dozen of our employees were stranded in Brussels, I think the last of them are getting home tonight.
