(15,023 posts)"THIS" is gonna do someone in, or maybe "THIS" will grace the coup d'etat. And nary a word of explication or enlightenment.

(153,104 posts)I very often see threads referring to - well, I don't know what they are talking about because they don't give so much as a hint

(42,770 posts)about this many times - journalists declaring "this is it", this is the most outrageous thing Trump has done/said, his undoing -- only to be proven it is not.
Sorry, didn't explain it well enough

(7,681 posts)this is why I don't like nicknames being used. If you want people to know who the F you're talking about, use their actual name!

(178 posts)I have seen "tweety" used many times and have yet to figure who this is referring to aside from the cartoon character. It is like walking into the middle of a conversation.

(7,820 posts)Yeah, not a fan of the "nicknames" either, but that particular one's been around for a while.

(42,770 posts)rally. He denied it. But, the woman, seemingly completely honest when it happened live, is pressing charges. I saw it live and I believe her.
Stupidly, Trump doubling down on it all.
So, the whole thread is about - this finally being his undoing...since he is defending the guy and the video tells it all.

(19,558 posts)But, if it is, it's pretty weak sauce compared to the rest of what he's condoned and said in this election cycle.
Which is why I say "maybe" instead of assuming it's his final downfall. His supporters are freaking out of their damn minds.

(42,770 posts)actually watching it live when it happened. She spoke up immediately and if she is lying (or as Trump says, "heard he had money (worth it to sue)", she is the best liar on the face of the earth.
This is not about opinions, and ideas, and buck-the-system. This, to me, is about standing by a loose canon with very slim bonafides, while 99% of the people see he is covering for a liar.

(19,558 posts)I've been watching Trumps campaign and I'm just not fully convinced this is his end. It's probably a stick in the axle of his wheel, but I don't know if it's his end. Yet. Think of the other horrific things he's said and then doubled down on so far.
The GOP want him gone. Cruz ( ) is their current choice. So, if they have their way it'll gain traction.
Part of the reason the GOP are actually working at derailing him now is, third party registration deadlines are nearing, not to mention sore loser laws in place, and his threats have little real teeth now.
Personally, I'd prefer to see it go to the convention floor, but that's just me. I'd love to see both he and Cruz passed over by their power players in the party. I know it wont' happen, but a girl can dream, right?
Still, I think many of his followers are almost cult like. Their hate, and perceived disillusionment exceed their abilities to think rationally. That's why they've been supporting him so far. Though all this horrific crap.
Laura PourMeADrink
(42,770 posts)each time he does something crazy someone says "this is it. He is out."
Interesting that third party deadlines are approaching !
I agree, some followers are cult-like. But, i do actually know a number of normal, everyday people, who like him for one reason - think he is bringing up problems no one will talk about or fix -- telling the truth.

(63,169 posts)It certainly won't turn his supporters away from him, it won't drive his Republican non-supporters to vote for the Democrat, and nobody likes Cruz.
This is yet another in Trump's endless string of "campaign-killing" gaffes that only leave him stronger after the dust settles. We already know that he hates women, and his supporters are fine with him hating women, so I don't see how this will be anything worse than another feather in his cap.

(14,732 posts)Among their many other 'qualities', many are mysoginists. Add that she is a female REPORTER (Lame Stream Media) and many of them are thinking "I would have done it myself if I had had a chance". I don't expect this to turn any of his supporters off. As for the rest, it's a Misdemeanor. Not exactly scandal of the day material.

(62,497 posts)I seriously doubt it. as soon as the news cycle changes, it will only center around the trump worker and not trump.
