Bat shit crazy.

Why do so many Americans support candidates for President that are so far off the normal curve?
No civility. No dignity. No respect for those that might think different from them.

Any day now, I expect to hear one of them say, "Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out..." That always goes over big with the insane crowd.

But there are hordes that follow these people. Somehow, they think they are presidential. They hate the "lamestream media" but they seem to believe everything they see and hear on it.

This is our opponent in the next election. Crazy people.

I say we could just "Bern" all the other candidates, that's my choice.

Over the decades since WWII (really dates back to WWI, but the Depression tamped down muc of this), the propaganda has been working. Now, we have generations of "black and white" thinkers that defer to all "rules." So, they hear a nutjob say "I love America and am Christian!" and...well, fall in lockstep.

There is blind anger out there. They played by the rules and got fucked. Those who think that God will get them out of the mess are going for Cruz. Those who think a rich celebrity will get them out of the mess are for Trump. Those that are rational go for Bernie. Those that are doing well are going for Hillary, they don't want anything to change.

It's really very simple. The blind anger lashes out at anyone or anything that they think is getting what they should have gotten and didn't. When things are more equal, the anger dies down. Even nature tells us that things should be more or less equal.

I think there is a great deal of truth in what you just posted. The Trump supporters (in my opinion) are also the ones who the remaining members of the "good ole boys" club and the women who adore those remaining members.

To me, ANY woman who could possibly vote for Donald Trump after all that he has done and said to denigrate women, has no scruples whatsoever.

My mother (may she rest in peace) probably would have been a Trump supporter. She read the 2 local papers every day, and watched the local and MSM world news every night, she was not a fox news watcher. She worked all her life and ended up with a small pension (non union, small company) and social security with a paid for house. But, she always looked at others on how they got a pass on things. She was against welfare and food stamps and such, until I ended up on it, and then 'I deserved it'. She never complained about it to me again. She always complained about 'the Arabs' (she lived near Detroit), being able to go into a bank and get a loan, when Americans couldn't do that. She was an angry person. Life got to her, and instead of depression, she became angry.

She HATED the Clintons while they were in the White House, and I doubt her feelings mellowed once they were out. There is so much disguised anger out there, that I don't think many recognize it. She was quite normal sounding until you touched on the subject of money, then the anger would come out. Oh, and she hated unions too, as she saw to many sleeping workers when she had to go to the auto plants for something to do with job. In truth, it may have been one man that she saw, but it played over and over in her head. Anger will do that to you.

But I also think there are some women in society that are just fine with a man telling them what to do, think, say, etc.

As a woman born in the 50's, I was certainly hoping that in 2016, our gender would have evolved to a point beyond that, but I see it everyday in my beloved Texas. There are women both my age and younger who have no desire to think for themselves. Why should they when they have a husband/boyfriend, etc. to do that for them?

That attitude makes my skin crawl. I ran into two Trump supporters a week ago (separate incidents) and this was the case for both of these women. They were supporting Trump because their husbands were.

I think it's more that the rules changed and it pisses them off. The rules used to be that white males got all the best jobs. Marginally qualified white men got jobs over well qualified women and people of color. Not only do they have to compete with these people, they have to work beside them. They may even be their boss. The horror!

And it's not just the workplace. These people - other races, mixed race families, gay families - are walking out in the open, moving into their neighborhoods. HOW CAN THAT BE?!

Yes, they've been living with blinders on for decades. But their world came crashing down in 2008. Obama's election made them afraid and angry. What did they do? They created the Tea Party and bought guns.

So yes, they have become the minions of Trump and Cruz.

You know how that works right?

Every conceivable sin that society normally avoids is taken to the limit...committed over and over again in a desperate attempt to block out the cognitive dissonance created when normal rules and mores don't fit reality anymore....after a feast of debauchery and gluttony there is a hangover and disgust with the orgy

There is an orgy of hate, bigotry, xenophobia, misogamy and violence going on right now. People are starting to realize the system doesn't work anymore...it's broken and they have to abandon old paradigms to fix it and they don't want to because, let's face it, CHANGE IS TERRIFYING!

I'm seeing some signs that Trump supporters are getting tired of the orgy....forcryinoutloud....even Ann Coulter is abandoning Trump....and soon the public will come to their senses and seek a rational solution...and it won't be Trump...or hopefully not Cruz either....
