How many DUers are Honda drivers?

You car may be up for a lucky recall due to a potentially lethal steering wheel airbag manufactured by Takara.

5. That's what my notice indicated.

Apparently i can loose my head in a crash from the airbag, but the part won't be ready till summer.
Guess I'll drive extra safe.

4. If you own a car that has a Takata airbag then you may

be affected.

My wife and I have been following this fiasco ever since we learned about it a year and a half ago.

People have been killed by these airbags. We're pissed.

9. I checked the list of affected vehicles, and mine is not on the list.

But I appreciate your interest in getting this information widely known. I'll let my own family and friends know about this in case any of them might be affected.

10. 13 other automakers are impacted, not just Hondas

I wonder if it might have been easier to list vehicles that DON'T have suspect airbags.

Ford alone, has added more than 900,000 vehicles to its list of recalls for potentially defective airbags from Takata.

6. Holy shit - there are some 2016 model Acuras on the list. Hasn't this Takata

airbag situation been brewing for a good 2 or 3 years now? I can't believe they allowed more bad ones to slip through.

Fortunately for me, my car is not on the affected list.

8. From the research I have done these airbags have been around since 2001-2004

11. Got the notice.

'12 Fit. But the parts aren't available. Great.

The notice says something about contacting the dealer for reimbursement for temporary transportation. So I guess we could rent a car and park ours, what a pain.

There was a different issue with the replacement.

14. Honda CR-V

Can't Really-Vehicle

No offense if you drive a Honda... But we were recently keeping score on bad drivers on a 3,000 + mile road trip. The CR-V was the hands down winner with a 20 point margin. In distant second was the Toyota Camry.

15. I got my notice for over a year (kept putting it off)

and finally took care of it last month for my 12-year-old original-owner Civic. Other than the timing belt, it's the only major repair I've had done on it.

You're just now discovering this?

19. I guess you have a model that wasn't in the original recall.

I don't know why that would be. Surely, they've got records of every single vehicle that has ever had that type installed in it.

Maybe they have to space out the recalls in order to accommodate the number of them, and the subsequent repairs.

And honestly, I was never concerned about it. I only got it done because I thought it might have come up in the inspection (it didn't.) I don't know if I do drive better than most other drivers or not, but at least I do try to stay far more aware than what I observe in too many of them. That alone is enough to me

Also, depending on how busy your dealership service department is, I was quoted at first forty minutes. I ended up being there almost three hours. So, figure somewhere in that time-frame.

20. The part won't be ready for months supposedly.

A few hours won't make a big deal at that point.

Good luck, whenever you get it repaired

16. They've been bothering me for three years about mine.

But it's been sitting dead for that long, hence why I haven't bothered to take it in.

There's also an electrical warning about the lights going out, but seeing I had that replaced because my high beams weren't working I suspect that's all set.
