It seems that LGBT people are just mentally ill

Well, it's certainly good to know the "real facts" from a Minnestora Republican. Goodness, what would we all do if the GOP was not digging up "facts" and letting the world know "the truth."

Republican Minnesota state Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen argued recently that gay, lesbian and transgender people were mentally ill and should “receive treatment” instead of legal protections.

While speaking to WCCO radio host Chad Hartman last week, Gruenhagen explained that he was not pandering to his extremist constituents by sponsoring a bill that would force transgender people to use bathrooms corresponding to their “biological sex” instead of their gender.

Gruenhagen asserted that his bill was based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V), which he said labels all transgender people as mentally ill

"forbidden" fantasies.

It's impossible not to wonder what fantasies some of these "bigots" are keeping hidden.

And even more scary, is how many of them act out their fantisies with really bad endings.

These people scare the hell out of me.

I was going to post the same thing!

Few things are scarier than when bigots "use" science to bolster their bigotry!

Here is the DSM fact sheet:

http://www.dsm5.org/documents/gender%20dysphoria%20fact%20sheet.pdf

Be sure to look at the second paragraph:

It is important to note that gender nonconformity is not in itself a mental disorder. The critical element of gender dysphoria
is the presence of clinically significant distress associated with the condition.

I don't know if it is learned behavior, but I would bet it is from growing up with parents that have certain character defects.

15. Yeah this clown thinks LGBT people suffer from an “unhealthy sex addiction”

And according to him LGBT people need to be fixed.

“You are telling the millions of people in this country who are homosexual — and the rest of their lives are no different than me or yours — but that the reason they have described themselves as homosexual is because they have an unhealthy sexual addiction?” Hartman asked.

After being given a chance to reverse himself, Gruenhagen didn’t backtrack.

“Yeah,” he replied. “You can go on the Internet and there’s treatment for sexual addictions right here in Minnesota, whether it’s pornography or unhealthy sexual behavior. You can receive treatment for that and be free from those compulsions.”

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if he was arrested for making a wide stance in a bathroom like one certain former Idaho Senator did.
