Has anyone else watched Michael Ware's doc

"Only the Dead Have Seen the End of War"? Not for the squeamish, but there is amazing footage, and if Michael is suffering from PTSD as I've heard, I can certainly understand why. George Bush and Company unleashed hell on earth.

it was hard to watch, but riveting at the same time. It surely dispels any crazy notions that war is somehow a glorious endeavor.

enough of that, don't need a movie to relive it.

I do appreciate that you talked about it's character so others would know about it.

It's good to be forewarned. The footage is graphic, and Michael obviously struggles with the fact that he was a witness and couldn't really do anything about it other than report. On the one hand, it's remarkable that he was able to embed with the insurgents, and with the US soldiers, also, but on the other, being somewhat of a passive participant in what both sides were doing had to create some real dissonance for him.

You couldn't pay me enough money to be a war correspondent.

young journalist who died under suspicious circumstances ...a car crash while conducting investigative journalism and who wrote that piece in Rolling Stone exposing disrespectful generals in the ME?

If so, I would like to know his story but I can't watch graphic stuff.

Michael Ware is still very much alive. I know who you're thinking of. I just can't remember his name.

I want to see it after watching Bill Maher's recent interview with him. But I'll have to work myself up to it if that's even possible. [img][/img]
