The Real Clear Politics final polling average was

The Real Clear Politics final polling average was Walker by 6.7%.

The final tally will probably be within half a point of that. (It's Walker by 7% with 99% of precincts reporting. Assuming there are some Milwaukee votes outstanding it will settle damn close to 6.7%.)

Primaries are very, very, very difficult to poll but there was surprisingly little suspense or surprise in the Republican clown-car show.

I don't always like the results, but polling today is impressive.

They were very close in 2008 as well. They had Obama 7.6 ahead in the RCP average BzaDem Jun 2012 #1
